Adam Dominik Pekala

I am an ambitious entrepreneur, engineer and leader. After many years of design and leadership practice gained on world-class projects, I decided to pursue a career of my own and start a business in the AEC industry.

I truly care about people and relationships, both in my professional and personal life. Working for great clients towards a common goal, collaborating with visionary architects and solving pressing challenges with like-minded consultants is what drives me on a daily basis. I believe the industry and environment need sustainable businesses now more than ever. It is with these principles in mind that I am currently building my consultancy and modular construction businesses.

My educational background from three world-class universities is combined with more than ten years of practical design experience. The projects I worked on can be found on three continents and some of them are listed below.

  • European Spallation Source (ESS) - Lund, Sweden

    European Spallation Source (ESS) - Lund, Sweden

    ESS is a 2.4B EUR research facility based around world’s most powerful neutron source. When working at Buro Happold, I was a project manager responsible for the Steel Roof Structure. The task involved leading the design team and coordination, internal project organisation as well as resolving challenges of this unique development.

  • Bodil Eskesen Centret - Glostrup, Denmark

    Bodil Eskesen Centret - Glostrup, Denmark

    Bodil Eskesen Centret is an extension to the existing Glostrup Hospital, providing 125 beds over 25.000m2. When working at Buro Happold, I was responsible for creating the initial Revit structural model, sizing precast concrete and steel elements, as well as reviewing technical documentation before submissions.

  • Vltava Philharmonic Hall | Henning Larsen

    Vltava Philharmonic Hall - Competition

    Presented project was one of the entries for a competition for a new philharmonic in Prague. When working at Buro Happold we collaborated closely with Henning Larsen Architects & CMC to develop an iconic yet environmentally efficient structure. We utilised concrete and steel for the acoustic boxes and mass timber to enclose the outer facade and roof.

  • Die Mimick der Tethys | Julius von Bismarck | André Morin

    Die Mimick der Tethys - Art Installation

    This art installation by Julius von Bismarck is utilising a sea navigation buoy suspended on a series of cables and motor winches. When working at Buro Happold I had the chance to design a supporting structure for “Morgen ist die Frage” - an exhibition at Berghein in Berlin. Due to photo ban in Berghein, the reference photo comes from Palais de Tokyo in Paris.

    Årets Unge FRI Rådgiver 2020 - Runner-up

    In 2020 my competence, commitment and drive for innovative solutions resulted in my shortlisting to the final five at the Young Consultant of the Year award by FRI. I received praise for my sense of collaboration, responsible project management, a solution-oriented mindset as well as creating an exemplary client-consultant relationship.

    AEC Global Teamwork - Stanford University, USA

    Following my graduation from the AEC Global Teamwork programme at Stanford, in 2018 I returned to the course as an industry mentor. In line with my belief or giving forward, with Buro Happold I have initiated a ‘Technology Challenge’, which students are addressing throughout their projects. I am continuously involved in the course as a mentor.

Greta Zabaglio

I am a graduate engineer from DTU specialized in structural engineering and sustainable design.

Throughout my studies, I developed a growing interest in how engineering decisions influence not only structural performance, but also humans and the built environment. Thus, I have deliberately shaped my career around urban resilience and climate adaptation, with the ambition of delivering solutions that strengthen communities and advance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Overall, my design approach is resource-conscious and defined by interdisciplinary integration of engineering and architectural principles. By embracing resilient and adaptable approaches, I believe we can shape urban environments that thrive in the face of climatic challenges and provide a sustainable haven for generations to come.
